57 Practical Programs & Games in Basic was intended for the computer hobbyist or user who had access to a computer system with standard BASIC language. The various programs are written in such a way that they will operate even with a simplified subset of full BASIC. The advanced programmer, with full BASIC available, can easily modify the programs to take advantage of the functions and capabilities of the full instruction set. The programs were chosen not just for their intrinsic qualities, but also for their role as teaching aids.
