IBM Systems Journal was a series where IBM began to focus on devoting themselves to one primary group of computer professionals, either system engineers, analysts and users. They believed the expanding role of computers and the increasing sophistication of their uses have created a level of technical knowledge that this specialized group needed to be completely effective. If IBM did this, the results of a sharper focus on problems, solutions and innovations in systems applications will make the IBM Systems Journal of greater value to the ones who help make computers work for mankind. This Volume provides information on evaluation of interactive-batch network, readings in microprogramming, large-problem computation and display, the chief programmer team and accounting control of data processing.
