Radio Craft Magazine: October 1945

YEAR: 1945
ITEM: Periodical
COMPANY: Radcraft Publications
COUNTRY: USA
IN OUR COLLECTION: Yes

The cover article featured the computer that controlled the turret guns on the B-29 bomber. The magazine was published just a month after Japan surrendered (Sept. 2, 1945) and displays the insides of the computer.

As the magazine puts it,

"Our cover this month shows one of the tests mode on the big B-29's electronic computing gunsight. Part of the the remarkable computer mechanism--seen out of its case for the first time..."

We have this model computer in our collection. Unlike the one on the cover of this magazine, ours is unopened...at least as of now.
