Peek (65) 1986 Dec.

The subtitle of the PEEK (65) was The Unofficial OSI Users Journal. The cost for one year's subscription in 1986 was raised from $19 to $22.00 in April

For the second time in one year the editor has changed the masthead. But this time he explained that he had moved from a dot-matrix printer to an Apple LaserWriter. He is pretty happy with the new look and, along with his new software, he has reduced his production time by at least 40%. Now that would make any editor happy. And this issue of the newsletter does have a much cleaner look with a variety of fonts.

On the other hand, he missed another issue and had to send out a double issue. As he says,

Ok, so why then did it take 2 months to get this issue out again? Mostly it was my fault. I just got out and out swamped by end of the year details.
He goes on to ask for more article submissions from the readers...it's 1986 and, in hindsight, you can almost hear the slow ending of a population of computer users who were tinkerers and programmers at heart.

One other note, for the first time in several years, the front and back covers of the December issue are NOT printed in green ink. An era is passing...

We will include more information on this item when we get a volunteer who really, really likes OSI computers. (Ohio Scientific Instruments...we have several in our collection)
