This report on software quality assurance is one of a series of guidebooks that was meant to help Air Force Program personnel in software acquisition for airborne systems. Its publication in the TRW Software Series is supposed to reflect the judgement of TRW that material will be useful to a wider audience. The guidebook was developed to assist Air Force Program Office personnel to plan, specify and monitor quality assurance activities in connection with the acquisition of airborne software. It contains discussions of the following topics: - Responsibilities of participating organizations for software quality assurance - Helpful techniques for performing quality assurance tasks - Checklists and guidelines for software quality assurance tasks - Definitions of software quality attributes and their interactions - Government regulations, specifications and standards relevant to software quality assurance
