This book is a comprehensive guide for uses and programmers of the IBM 5100 Portable Computer. The IBM 5100 incorporated the functions of a full-scale computer with the size of an office typewriter. The computer system allows APL and BASIC language capability and contains facilities for a display screen, magnetic tape unit, line printer, and telecommunications equipment.
The IBM 5100 Portable Computer Comprehensive Guide has three main objectives. They are to present an introduction to programming and using the IBM 5100 Portable Computer. Also, to provide an introduction to the APL and BASIC languages. Lastly, it presents the systems concepts for effectively utilizing the computer. The guide is split intop 4 major sections, including 15 chapters, and 6 appendices.
